Why a brief helps
Make suppliers price the same job.
A useful quote needs more than a vehicle model and a budget. Give each installer the same services, workload, water, electrical load and operating area so differences in scope are visible.
- 01Specify the paid work
Equipment follows the service process and daily workload—not the other way around.
- 02Use measured constraints
Replace provisional capacities and dimensions with real figures before accepting a quote.
- 03Ask what is excluded
Clarify design, installation, certification, weighing, warranty and commissioning responsibilities.
Before commissioning
Physical fit is only one constraint.
Loaded weight, individual axles, restraint, ventilation and local road rules still control the build. A supplier should explain which limits it checked and which remain your responsibility.
- For UK vehicles, check the plated weights and weigh the completed working vehicle.
- For trailers, verify the tow vehicle, hitch, brakes, loaded weight and local licence rules.
- Never operate a fuel-powered engine in an enclosed or partially enclosed space.
